“I give all the residue of my estate to the Copper Country Humane  Society (Non Profit FID 23-7423778), P.O. Box 453, Houghton, MI 49931.”

If you wish to have your bequest applied to a specific CCHS program, simply  add that program name to the language suggested above.

Because of several generous bequests, CCHS is planning on adding a much needed expansion! We are in the very early stages, but we are hoping to add to the building in ways that will benefit not  just the shelter animals but also the community.

Something else to consider:

If you have an IRA and are 70 ½ or older, you may be able to donate tax free from your IRA to The Copper Country Humane Society, using a qualified charitable distribution (QCD). A QCD can satisfy part or all of your required minimum distribution (RMD), reducing your taxable income while making a meaningful impact on the Shelter and the animals it serves.
