Large Group Opportunities
We really appreciate groups who are interested in coming to the shelter to visit the animals and help out. We recognize that it can be great for children who do not have pets, college students who miss their pets, and can present a great opportunity for groups looking to do some volunteering. Unfortunately when there are very large groups, it causes a lot of stress for our animals and can scare away potential adopters. To help make things easier for everyone we would like anyone coming in with a group to fill out a CCHS Group Visit Request. We love having visitors, but we also need to keep the animals’ stress levels in mind, as well as make sure we are not scaring away potential adopters. We are happy to work with you, but you will need to fill the form out ahead of time to ensure we have time to go through it and set something up with you. You can find the form here: https://forms.gle/1eQxubUv6MiPJGjKA
If you are looking to do something other than walk dogs and socialize cats we also have projects we sometimes need help with too like: raking leaves in the fall and various other yard work, returning cans/bottles, extra cleaning at times, etc. We also have a list of ideas for fundraisers if your group is interested in something like that. Donation drives are also super helpful, though it is a good idea to contact the shelter ahead of time to check on what we might be in need of. Making toys, scratching posts, and other things for the shelter animals is also another fun group activity. Contact the shelter if your group is interested in helping out CCHS.
