I always look at the Humane Society websites in the UP, as I adopted my two cats from a UP shelter. I remember Esme being on the CCHS website a long time, and I wondered why she was in the shelter so long. I tried to talk my mom into adopting Esme. Then, one day I noticed Esme's picture was no longer on the website and I wondered what happened to her. Thank you so much for providing the update! One of my cats, Lewey, was adopted out of a UP shelter, only to be brought back to the shelter because he was too scared and not "social" enough for the person who adopted him. I gave Lewey a second chance, and he is the sweetest, most loving cat you could ever wish for. So, I agree with Esme's family--you have to give all pets a chance. They will often surprise you!
